Young Namibian Innovators Present Solar-Powered Solutions at Goethe-Institut. In recognition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Goethe-Institut Namibia hosted ten girls, aged 15 to 18, who showcased solar-powered prototypes aimed at solving practical challenges.
The event, held at the institute’s premises, provided a platform for the young innovators to present their projects, each designed with a focus on sustainability and renewable energy. Attendees had the opportunity to observe the prototypes in action as the girls demonstrated their functionality.
Following the presentations, a Q&A session allowed the participants to elaborate on their concepts, explaining their design processes and the intended impact of their projects. The event aimed to promote interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among young women, encouraging further exploration of these fields.
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed globally to recognize the role of women and girls in scientific progress. By hosting this initiative, the Goethe-Institut Namibia provided a space for young talents to share their ideas and engage in discussions about innovation and technology.
