The City of Windhoek has confirmed that the damage is being addressed and that repair teams have already been deployed to resolve the issue. The affected areas include Okuryangava and surrounding communities, with water services temporarily suspended until the necessary repairs are completed.
In an official notice, the municipality assured residents that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly and safely as possible. “Our technical team is on-site, and we are working to complete the repairs with urgency,” the City stated.
Residents are encouraged to make prior water arrangements where possible and to use existing reserves conservatively during the outage. The municipality further advised residents to keep water taps closed to avoid possible wastage or flooding once the supply is restored.
