UNAM Vice Chancellor Engages 2025 SRC Members at Leadership Workshop. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Namibia (UNAM), Prof. Dr. Kenneth Matengu, held a four-hour engagement with the elected 2025 Student Representative Council (SRC) members from all 12 UNAM campuses.
The engagement took place as part of the Student Leadership Induction Workshop and SRC Elective Congress, currently being held from 3 to 7 March 2025 at the Eng. José Eduardo dos Santos (JEDS) Campus in Ongwediva.
Organised by the Directorate of Student Affairs, the event is being held under the theme “Leapfrogging Contemporary Student Leaders into Dynamic Change Makers.”
According to information provided by UNAM, Prof. Dr. Matengu’s address focused on leadership approaches, the university’s vision, and his personal motivation. The session was aimed at sharing insights with the SRC members as they begin their term.
The Student Leadership Induction Workshop and SRC Elective Congress form part of the university’s structured activities to introduce newly elected student leaders to their roles.
As outlined by UNAM, the workshop calls on SRC members to lead with purpose, adapt to change, and contribute towards transformation within the university community.
The programme is expected to continue with further sessions designed to support the SRC in understanding their responsibilities within the institution’s governance framework.
