Old Mutual Namibia Strengthens Financial Literacy with Nationwide Training

Old Mutual Namibia Strengthens Financial Literacy with Nationwide Training. Old Mutual Namibia has reinforced its commitment to financial education by training over 8,130 individuals in 2024, equipping them with essential money management skills. This initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to promote financial literacy across different sectors of society.

The training sessions, delivered through Old Mutual’s well-known On the Money programme, provided practical financial principles inspired by Africa’s Big Five animals. These lessons helped individuals develop better financial habits and long-term wealth-building strategies. Participants included corporate employees, students, and community members.

Several organisations benefited from these sessions, including the Ministry of Health in Gobabis, Restonic Windhoek, Be Free Youth Campus, Navachab Gold Mine in Karibib, Walvis Bay Municipality (Men’s Mental Health Initiative), the Ministry of Education (Rundu Circuit Teachers Conference), Namibia Revolutionary Transport and Logistics Union (NARETU), and the University of Namibia (UNAM), among others.

To expand the programme’s reach, Old Mutual Namibia also trained nine employees as financial education ambassadors through the Train the Trainer initiative. These ambassadors will continue spreading financial knowledge within their respective communities, ensuring long-term impact.
