NUST Launches Namibia’s First Bloomberg Finance Lab to Advance Financial Education. The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has introduced the country’s first Bloomberg Finance Lab, a cutting-edge facility designed to enhance financial literacy, professional training, and investment expertise in Namibia.

Announced in a press statement on Monday, the launch was made possible through a collaboration between NUST, Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC), and the Namibia Investment and Finance Academy (NIFA).

Equipped with 12 Bloomberg terminals, the lab places NUST among more than 1,000 academic institutions worldwide that integrate this advanced financial technology into their curriculum. The Bloomberg terminal provides real-time market data, historical financial trends, analytics, and trading tools, enabling students and professionals to make informed investment decisions and engage with a global financial network.

Speaking at the inauguration, NUST Vice-Chancellor Erold Naomab emphasized the university’s commitment to developing future financial professionals. He noted that the partnership with Bloomberg, NIFA, and MTC bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world financial applications, enhancing student employability and strengthening Namibia’s global financial standing.

MTC Managin Director Licky Erastus highlighted the significance of technology in driving sustainable economic growth. He described the Bloomberg Finance Lab as a prime example of how innovation and collaboration can position Namibia as a leader in digital financial transformation.

NIFA Founder and CEO Arinze Okafor emphasized the importance of equipping professionals with globally recognized financial skills. He stated that through this initiative, financial training and certification opportunities will become more accessible, ensuring Namibian professionals gain the expertise needed to excel in competitive global markets.
