NFCPT Launches Educational Fish Sales Campaign Across Omaheke Region. The Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT) has kicked off an educational fish sales promotion across the Omaheke Region, running from 19 to 26 May 2025. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the benefits of fish consumption while making affordable, high-quality frozen fish products accessible to residents.
The mobile sales and education team will visit key towns and settlements including Buitepos/Blouberg (19 May), Otjinene (20 May), Aminuis (21 May), and Witvlei (22 May). Activities take place daily from 09h00 to 16h30, offering the public an opportunity to learn about nutritious fish options and explore different cooking methods.
From 23 to 26 May, NFCPT will be stationed at the //Goa !Haob Festival in Gobabis, with a dedicated stand to engage directly with the community. The public is invited to explore a wide selection of frozen fish including HM 25+, HM 20+, HM18+, HM16+, Snoek W/R, Silver Angel, Hake H&G, Grunard, Efuta HM, and Efuta Pilchard.
In addition to product sales, the NFCPT team will offer educational demonstrations on how to prepare fish using various techniques. This aligns with the Trust’s broader mission to encourage healthier eating habits among Namibians by promoting the consumption of fish as a sustainable and nutritious food option.
NFCPT continues to position fish as a staple in local diets and a tool for improving national nutrition outcomes. The Trust encourages all residents of Omaheke to take advantage of this opportunity and visit the sales points to access affordable seafood and learn practical cooking skills.
