Nedbank Namibia Partners with Trollope Contractors to Boost Mining Development in Erongo Region. Nedbank Namibia has secured a major funding agreement with Trollope Contractors Namibia, a subsidiary of the South Africa-based Trollope Mining Group. The deal marks a significant step in enhancing mining activity and economic development in Namibia, particularly in the Erongo Region.
The agreement provides Trollope Contractors with a tailored financial solution that includes both asset-based lending and working capital support. This funding will support the company’s ongoing operations in Namibia, helping to drive job creation and stimulate local economic participation.
Trollope Contractors, which has operated for nearly 50 years across Southern Africa, is recognised for its large mining equipment fleet, high safety standards, and proven operational capabilities. The group’s expansion into Namibia is part of a broader effort to explore new mineral opportunities and extend its regional presence.
The partnership is also expected to accelerate output linked to minerals that support the global energy transition. It aligns with Nedbank’s wider commitment to economic transformation and sustainable development by enabling investment in high-impact sectors.
The transaction was facilitated through collaboration between Nedbank Namibia’s CIB team and counterparts in South Africa and the broader Africa Regions unit, showcasing the bank’s cross-border capabilities.
Looking ahead, Trollope intends to expand further within Southern Africa, with Namibia positioned as a key growth market. The company’s support infrastructure and experience provide a strong foundation for scalable operations in the region.
