Nedbank Namibia Donates 40 Bicycles to Beautiful Kidz Ovitoto Centre from Desert Dash Proceeds. On 14 June 2025, Nedbank Namibia handed over 40 bicycles to the Beautiful Kidz Ovitoto Centre, marking a meaningful contribution to community development through proceeds raised during the 2024 Nedbank Desert Dash.

The donation stems from the N$40,000 generated through the endurance cycling event, where participants and supporters came together to raise funds in support of Beautiful Kidz — a Namibian non-profit organisation that provides educational and developmental programs for vulnerable children and families.

Beautiful Kidz operates from centres in Windhoek and Ovitoto, serving hundreds of children through pre-primary education, after-school tutoring, youth engagement clubs, and holiday camps. The donated bicycles are expected to support mobility and enhance access to services and education for children and youth in the Ovitoto area.

Representatives from Nedbank Namibia highlighted the importance of corporate and community partnerships in addressing social challenges. “This is more than just a donation; it’s an investment in access and opportunity for children in underserved areas,” a spokesperson said during the handover ceremony.

The bicycles, symbolising mobility and freedom, will allow children to travel more easily to school and community activities, especially in remote rural settings where transportation is limited.

Beautiful Kidz has welcomed the support with gratitude, noting that the bicycles will significantly ease transport burdens for many of the families they serve.
