Nedbank Cycle Challenge Returns in 2025 After Hiatus. The Nedbank Cycle Challenge is set to return on April 13, 2025, following its cancellation in 2024 due to the national mourning period for the late President Dr. Hage G. Geingob. Dubbed “The Greatest Ride Under the Sun,” the event remains one of Namibia’s most prestigious cycling competitions since its debut in 1986.
The upcoming race will offer four distance categories: 20 km, 30 km, 60 km, and 100 km, attracting cyclists of all skill levels. The race will kick off at 07:00 from the Nedbank Campus (corner of Fidel Castro and Rev. Michael Scott Street) and conclude on Independence Avenue in front of Zoo Park.
Registration for the event will be held on April 12, 2025, at the Nedbank Campus, where participants can collect their race numbers between 14:00 and 16:00. Entries open on March 27 via the PayToday platform and will close on April 9 at midnight.
Organizers anticipate strong participation, building on the success of the last edition, which saw over 750 cyclists compete. The event is supported by key sponsors and partners, emphasizing its role in promoting health, wellness, and community engagement in Namibia.
