Nancy Lebang Shines as Top Performer in COSAFA U17 Girls’ Championship. Namibian striker Nancy Lebang has earned a spot in the prestigious Group Stage Best XI of the 2025 COSAFA U17 Girls’ Championship, following her standout performance during the early rounds of the tournament.

Representing her nation on the regional stage, Lebang made headlines after scoring seven goals in Namibia’s commanding 10-0 win over Comoros — the highest individual goal tally in a single match so far. Her contribution not only powered Namibia to a decisive victory but also secured her current lead in the tournament’s golden boot race.

Lebang plays her club football for V-Power Angels FC in the FNB Women’s Super League, one of Namibia’s leading teams in women’s football. Her inclusion in the Best XI recognizes her impact and consistency throughout the group stage, where she showcased speed, clinical finishing, and strong positional play.

COSAFA (Council of Southern Africa Football Associations) named the Best XI to highlight the tournament’s most influential young players so far, and Lebang’s performance stood out among a field of rising stars from across the region.

The COSAFA U17 Girls’ Championship is a platform aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting the growth of women’s football across Southern Africa. Lebang’s achievement not only brings pride to Namibia but also reflects the growing strength and potential of the country’s youth football programs.
