Namibia Opens Inaugural Creative Sport Tourism Expo in WWindhoek. Namibia has launched its inaugural Creative Sport Tourism (CST) Expo, with the Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dr Sanet L. Steenkamp, officially opening the three-day event in Windhoek on 2 September 2026.
The expo is being held at the Hage Geingob Stadium and has brought together government leaders, industry stakeholders, exhibitors and creative sector partners.
The event aims to showcase how sport, tourism and the creative industries can work together to support economic growth while creating opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship and national development.
Speaking at the opening, Steenkamp said the CST Expo demonstrates the potential for sport, tourism and creativity to work together to drive economic growth, create memorable experiences and unlock new opportunities for communities and the country.
The Minister placed young people at the centre of this vision, encouraging them to pursue opportunities as athletes, artists, innovators, entrepreneurs and creators.
She said the Ministry is committed to supporting young people’s talent through skills development and innovation.
The three-day expo is also bringing visitors together through exhibitions, interactive showcases and opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Steenkamp called for stronger cooperation between government, the private sector and industry partners to maximise Namibia’s sporting, cultural and creative potential.
The expo is designed to bring together sectors that are often considered separately, creating a platform for engagement between stakeholders working across education, innovation, sport, arts, culture and tourism.
At the opening, the Minister also commended the Emeralds Platform and its partners for establishing the CST Expo.
