Namibia Launches National Multi-Hazard Health Emergency Preparedness Plan. The Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, has officially launched the National Multi-Hazard Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (HEPRP). The initiative aims to strengthen Namibia’s ability to respond to various health emergencies, including infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and environmental health risks.
The HEPRP serves as a strategic framework to help identify, anticipate, and effectively respond to health emergencies. It outlines critical response mechanisms, coordination structures, and resource mobilization strategies to enhance Namibia’s health security.
The launch of the HEPRP aligns with Namibia’s broader efforts to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure and emergency response capacity. The plan will be implemented in collaboration with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare professionals, and international health partners.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the plan is effectively executed, with ongoing training, resource allocation, and inter-agency coordination forming key pillars of its success.
