Namibia Announces Fuel Price Decrease for April 2025. The Ministry of Mines & Energy has announced significant reductions in fuel prices for April 2025 following its monthly fuel price review. The ministry recorded over-recoveries of 58.77 cents per litre for petrol, 82.88 cents per litre for 50ppm diesel, and 91.07 cents per litre for 10ppm diesel, prompting a downward price adjustment.
According to the official statement, petrol prices will decrease by 50 cents per litre, while diesel prices will drop by 80 cents per litre. The new fuel prices in Walvis Bay will be N$20.67 per litre for petrol, N$20.62 per litre for diesel 50ppm, and N$20.72 per litre for diesel 10ppm. Fuel prices in other regions of Namibia will be adjusted accordingly based on transportation and distribution factors.
In addition to the price reductions, the ministry announced an increase in the Namport tariff by 0.2 cents per litre. This adjustment raises the tariff from 4.40 cents per litre to 4.60 cents per litre, as part of an annual review process.
These adjustments will come into effect on Wednesday, 2 April 2025. The Ministry of Mines & Energy has urged fuel consumers to take note of the changes and adjust their budgeting accordingly.
The reduction in fuel prices is expected to provide some financial relief to motorists and businesses that rely on fuel for transportation and logistics. However, the ministry has not provided projections for future price movements, emphasizing that fuel prices are subject to global market fluctuations and local economic conditions.
