MTC Expands Youth Empowerment Efforts Through MTC 4Life Programme. Namibia’s leading digital solutions company, MTC, is reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment by continuing its MTC 4Life initiative. This programme is designed to equip young Namibians with essential business and entrepreneurial skills, helping them start or expand their own small businesses while tackling the country’s unemployment challenges.
As announced on Tuesday, this year’s MTC 4Life programme will offer 40 aspiring entrepreneurs hands-on training over two weeks in practical trades such as barbering, brick manufacturing, animation, carpentry, hairstyling, electrical and solar installation, upholstery, and welding. The training will be conducted by industry professionals, ensuring participants gain real-world expertise in their chosen fields.
To help kickstart their businesses, each graduate will receive a starter toolkit along with N$5,000 in seed capital to put their new skills into action.
This year, the programme is focusing on youth from the Erongo, Hardap, Omaheke, and Zambezi regions. Responding to questions about regional selection, MTC Corporate Communications Practitioner Erasmus Nekundi explained that the company follows a phased approach to ensure meaningful and measurable impact.
Young entrepreneurs interested in the programme have until 27 February 2025 to submit their applications. By equipping Namibian youth with valuable skills and resources, MTC 4Life continues to provide long-term solutions to unemployment while fostering a new generation of business leaders.
