Modern Dental Clinic Opens at Tsumeb District Hospital, Boosting Patient Care. The Ministry of Health and Social Services has officially unveiled a newly renovated Dental Clinic at Tsumeb District Hospital, marking a major milestone in the hospital’s efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of oral healthcare services in the region.
Previously, the hospital’s dental services operated under severe constraints, including just one consultation room shared by four dentists, a single malfunctioning dental chair, and limited procedural capacity focused mainly on extractions. Equipment shortages, such as non-functional X-ray machines and compressors, also hampered service delivery.
The upgraded clinic, however, is now fully equipped to meet the demands of the community. It features two modern dental rooms accommodating two dentists each, with each room fitted with brand-new dental chairs and dedicated X-ray machines. This improvement has drastically reduced patient wait times and broadened the scope of available procedures, which now include teeth cleaning and fillings alongside extractions.
In addition to improved treatment facilities, the clinic now includes a dedicated dental office and a separate sterilization room—crucial for maintaining infection control standards. Each dental chair is also supported by its own compressor, ensuring uninterrupted service and greater efficiency during procedures.
The transformation of the Tsumeb District Hospital Dental Clinic highlights the Ministry’s continued commitment to strengthening public health infrastructure and prioritizing patient-centered care.
