Michelle McLean Children Trust Golf Day Raises N$280 000 with Support from Old Mutual Wealth. The Michelle McLean Children Trust Golf Day, sponsored by Old Mutual Wealth, concluded on 5 December with a strong display of support from the Namibian business and sporting community. The annual charity event raised N$280 000, strengthening ongoing initiatives focused on education, financial literacy, and women empowerment.
This year’s event drew 42 teams and a total of 126 golfers. Participants spent the day engaging in friendly competition while contributing to programmes that directly benefit communities across the country. Organisers noted that the turnout reflected a growing commitment to supporting social development through collaborative efforts.
Proceeds from the Golf Day will be channelled into several key projects. These include the Michelle McLean Primary School in Otjomuise, Vision For The Future Projects which assist children with sight disabilities, and a financial literacy programme designed for learners and women entrepreneurs. These initiatives form part of the Trust’s long-standing mission to expand access to opportunities for young people and vulnerable groups.
Michelle McLean expressed appreciation to all who made the event possible, acknowledging the collective impact achieved through the partnership. She noted that the contribution will help the Trust continue its efforts to uplift communities through education and empowerment-focused projects.
Old Mutual Wealth CEO Wikus Fourie also highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that foster long-term development. He said the organisation remains committed to strengthening education and financial empowerment as essential components of sustainable progress.
The successful outcome of this year’s Golf Day demonstrates the value of partnerships in creating meaningful change. Both the Michelle McLean Children Trust and Old Mutual Wealth affirmed their intention to continue working together to expand community impact.
