FNB Partners with National Cricket Team, Unveils “FNB Eagles”

FNB Partners with National Cricket Team, Unveils “FNB Eagles”. Cricket Namibia has officially unveiled the national men’s cricket team’s new identity: the FNB Eagles, following a landmark naming sponsorship agreement with FNB Namibia.

The announcement was made during a jersey handover ceremony, marking a new chapter in the team’s journey on and off the field. The sponsorship signifies FNB Namibia’s commitment to supporting local sports as a key driver of national pride, youth development, and long-term social impact.

FNB Eagles captain Gerhard Erasmus spoke at the event, drawing a connection between the team’s culture and the symbolism of the FNB logo. “The tree in the FNB logo represents resilience, strength, protection, and nurture. It embodies African heritage, growth, and prosperity — values that are deeply rooted in our team culture,” he said.

The sponsorship forms part of FNB Namibia’s broader strategy to invest in the country’s development beyond banking. “We see this as a long-term investment in Namibia’s sporting future. When Namibians rise, Namibia rises — and we want to be part of that rise,” the bank stated.

The partnership is expected to boost the profile of cricket in Namibia while equipping the national team with resources to compete and grow at international level. Cricket Namibia welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the significance of consistent corporate backing in fostering a thriving sports ecosystem.

With the launch of the FNB Eagles, both partners aim to inspire a new generation of athletes and fans while reinforcing the values of unity, excellence, and national pride.
