FNB Namibia Invests in Inclusive Education with Launch of UNAM Study Lounge

FNB Namibia Invests in Inclusive Education with Launch of UNAM Study Lounge. The University of Namibia (UNAM) has officially unveiled a new Differently Abled Study Lounge, a purpose-built space designed to support students with disabilities. The facility was made possible through a N$500,000 sponsorship from FNB Namibia.

Located on UNAM’s main campus, the lounge provides a dedicated, accessible environment for differently abled students to study and access academic resources with greater ease. The initiative reflects growing efforts to promote inclusivity and ensure equal learning opportunities for all students, regardless of physical or learning challenges.

FNB Namibia described the investment as a step toward building an inclusive future where every student has the tools and environment needed to succeed. “This space is not just about infrastructure—it represents our commitment to equity and educational access,” said the bank during the official launch.

UNAM officials expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the study lounge addresses a long-standing need on campus. It aims to enhance learning experiences and reduce the obstacles often faced by students living with disabilities.

The facility is equipped with accessibility features and is designed to accommodate a range of needs, making it a model for inclusive academic spaces in the country.

FNB Namibia’s involvement aligns with its broader corporate social responsibility goals, particularly in education and youth empowerment. The bank reaffirmed its dedication to standing alongside young Namibians as they navigate their academic and personal journeys.
