Ekoka Combined School Receives Donation of Uniforms and Sports Equipment. Ekoka Combined School, located in the Okongo constituency of the Ohangwena Region, recently received a donation of school uniforms, sports gear, and sanitary pads from PEP Stores and Omulunga Radio.

The school uniforms, valued at N$10,000, include items such as shoes, socks, T-shirts, trousers, and skirts. The sporting equipment, worth N$6,000, was also provided to support the school’s athletic activities.

The handover event took place in Ongwediva, where Omulunga Radio Station Manager Simon Mundandala highlighted the importance of supporting the education and well-being of Namibian learners. Mundandala explained that the donation was part of a larger Back-to-School initiative with a total budget of over N$1,000,000. Ekoka Combined School was selected as one of the beneficiaries based on specific criteria.

Mundandala stated that providing resources like uniforms helps create an environment where learners can focus on their studies without concerns about their appearance. He further noted the challenges that some learners face, which can affect their education, and stressed the need to provide support where it is needed.

School Principal Simon Nauyoma confirmed that the school has 365 learners, from Pre-Grade to Grade 9. According to Nauyoma, around 30 learners are expected to benefit from the recent donation. He also mentioned that many more learners at the school continue to face similar needs and require additional support.
