Dr Fillemon Nangolo Appointed as Head of Lüderitz Campus. Dr Fillemon Nangolo has been named the new Head of the Lüderitz Campus, bringing extensive experience in academia, research, and industry. His appointment is expected to enhance the campus’s role in regional development and academic excellence, with a focus on renewable energy, marine systems, and industry collaboration.

Dr Nangolo’s career spans over 18 years, during which he has held leadership positions at both the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and the University of Namibia (UNAM). He previously served as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at UNAM and has also lectured internationally at J. E. Purkyne University in the Czech Republic. His industry experience includes working with Chart Ferox, Inc., providing him with insight into the application of research in real-world scenarios.

His research interests include marine systems, renewable energy, water solutions, and industrial processes. His work on solar-powered desalination, predictive maintenance for maritime systems, and wind power projects in the Benguela region highlights his commitment to practical innovation.

Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Dr Nangolo stated, “I am honored to lead the Lüderitz Campus as the region grows in economic significance. Strengthening industry partnerships, advancing research, and preparing students for the future are key priorities.”
