This year marks two decades of transformative impact by the KAYEC Development Program, a testament to the power of education and community support in shaping brighter futures. Since its establishment in 2004, KAYEC has been a lifeline for Namibia’s youth, offering educational and psychosocial support while promoting HIV prevention and awareness.
FNB Namibia has proudly partnered with KAYEC over the past six years, contributing N$2.3 million to the program. This investment underscores FNB’s belief in the critical role education plays as a catalyst for individual and societal growth.
Operating after-school centers in Windhoek, Rundu, and Otjiwarongo, KAYEC has become a second home for young people. These centers offer a safe and supportive environment, helping youth avoid risky behaviors while fostering connections, celebrating cultural diversity, and instilling a sense of belonging.
“FNB is honored to have walked this journey with KAYEC,” said a representative from FNB Namibia. “We believe that by enhancing educational opportunities, we create pathways for not just better lives for individuals, but stronger communities and a more prosperous society.”
As KAYEC celebrates its 20th anniversary, it reflects on its mission to empower young Namibians with the tools they need to succeed while nurturing values that strengthen the social fabric. The collaboration with FNB has been instrumental in expanding the program’s reach and impact, ensuring that more youth benefit from its resources and guidance.
This milestone is not just a celebration of KAYEC’s achievements but a call to action for continued support from all sectors of society. Together, we can build on this legacy of empowerment and pave the way for a brighter future for Namibia’s youth.
