Capricorn Group Equips NamRA Leadership with Tools to Advance Sustainability Goals. In a move to deepen environmental and social responsibility in the public sector, Capricorn Group hosted a dedicated Sustainability 101 Masterclass for leaders from the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA). The session aimed to embed sustainability practices into institutional planning and governance.
The event offered an interactive platform for NamRA’s leadership to explore practical approaches to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks. Designed as a collaborative effort, the masterclass sought to align public sector operations with evolving global sustainability priorities.
Capricorn’s sustainability experts—Marlize Horn (Group Executive: Brand and Corporate Affairs), Ruan Bestbier (Group Head: Sustainability), and Laina Likius (Sustainability and ESG Specialist)—led the session, offering insights rooted in experience and regional relevance.
Participants also explored how to integrate ESG thinking into procurement, stakeholder engagement, policy development, and overall public sector efficiency. The programme emphasized that sustainability is not only about compliance but also about long-term value creation and responsible service delivery.
The masterclass highlighted the role of cross-sector collaboration, particularly in public–private partnerships, as a pathway to driving sustainable outcomes. As NamRA continues to modernize revenue collection systems, the training signals a shift toward embracing more socially responsive and environmentally aware models of operation.
Capricorn Group reaffirmed its commitment to financial inclusion and sustainable development, stressing the importance of equipping institutional leaders with knowledge to drive meaningful change.
