Bank of Namibia Pays Tribute to Founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma. The Bank of Namibia (BoN) staff gathered today to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, Namibia’s Founding President and Father of the Nation. His leadership played a crucial role in shaping the country’s financial institutions, ensuring both national identity and financial sovereignty.

Dr. Nujoma’s influence is also recognized in the country’s currency. His portrait appears on the N$10 and N$20 banknotes, honoring his role in securing Namibia’s independence. The N$10 Commemorative Coin acknowledges his contributions to the establishment of the central bank. Additionally, the N$30 Commemorative Banknote, issued on Namibia’s 30th Independence Anniversary, celebrates three decades of nation-building and leadership transitions.
