Airlink Launches Twice-Daily Flights Between Johannesburg and Walvis Bay to Boost Regional Connectivity. Airlink has officially introduced two daily flights between Johannesburg and Walvis Bay, further enhancing regional air connectivity and improving access to Namibia’s key coastal destinations. The expanded service began operating on 04 July 2025.
Flights now depart Johannesburg at 10:20 and 14:05, while return flights from Walvis Bay leave at 13:40 and 17:25, offering business and leisure travellers flexible and convenient travel options throughout the day.
This development strengthens links between southern Africa’s financial hub and Namibia’s west coast, unlocking new opportunities for tourism and trade. Travellers arriving in Walvis Bay can easily connect to renowned destinations such as Swakopmund, the Namib Desert, and Namib-Naukluft Park, making the route ideal for international tourists seeking unique desert and coastal experiences.
Beyond tourism, the Johannesburg–Walvis Bay route also supports Namibia’s growing port, energy, and logistics sectors. Walvis Bay is a key node in regional trade and infrastructure corridors, and increased flight frequency could accelerate business operations and cross-border collaboration.
Airlink’s expanded schedule is a timely response to rising demand for reliable air services along strategic economic corridors in southern Africa. The added connectivity not only enhances travel convenience but also reinforces Namibia’s position as a gateway to Atlantic trade and eco-tourism.
