Agribank and NUST Forge Partnership to Advance Namibia’s Agricultural Sector. Agribank and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), through the Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business (HP GSB), have formalized a strategic partnership to drive research, knowledge exchange, and skills development in Namibia’s agricultural sector. The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) in Windhoek on March 25, 2025, marking a significant step in bridging academia and industry.
The partnership aims to enhance sustainable agricultural practices and financial solutions, benefiting farmers, agribusinesses, and policymakers. By combining NUST’s academic expertise with Agribank’s industry knowledge, the collaboration seeks to foster innovation and equip stakeholders with practical skills to navigate the evolving agricultural landscape.
A central focus of the agreement is capacity building. NUST employees, students, Agribank clients, and Agribusiness Advisors will receive training to enhance their understanding of business management within the agricultural sector.
Speaking at the signing, Dr. Hylton Villet, Director of HP GSB, emphasized the importance of industry-academic collaboration, stating: “At NUST, we believe that the collaboration between education and industry is key to driving meaningful progress. This partnership with Agribank is a bold step towards empowering Namibia’s agricultural sector, particularly in business management.”
Agribank CEO Dr. Raphael Karuaihe echoed this sentiment, calling the agreement a strategic investment in Namibia’s agricultural future. He highlighted the impact of research, skills development, and resource sharing in shaping a resilient agribusiness sector.
