Old Mutual Foundation Youth Indaba 3.0 to Focus on Pathways from Education to Employment

Old Mutual Foundation Youth Indaba 3.0 to Focus on Pathways from Education to Employment. The Old Mutual Foundation is set to host Youth Indaba 3.0 on 12 February 2026 at the UNAM Hifikepunye Pohamba Campus in Ongwediva, under the theme “From Learning to Earning: Creating Sustainable Futures.”

Now in its third edition, the Youth Indaba has developed into a platform for engagement on youth development, economic inclusion, and the future of work. This year’s event will focus on practical pathways to help young people turn education, skills, and personal potential into sustainable livelihoods.

The programme will bring together youth, policymakers, industry leaders, development practitioners, educators, and entrepreneurs. Activities will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, and focused breakaway sessions designed to encourage dialogue and knowledge sharing.

Topics on the agenda include career identity and workplace readiness, entrepreneurship and innovation, financial capability, personal branding, emotional intelligence, and opportunities in key economic sectors. Organisers say the event is designed as an action-oriented dialogue, with a strong focus on employability, enterprise development, and long-term resilience.

Patricia Olivier, Chairperson of the Old Mutual Foundation, said the Indaba reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable development. She noted that youth unemployment remains a significant challenge and said the event aims to shift the focus toward practical steps that enable young people to create value and build sustainable futures.

Th Youth Indaba 3.0 aligns with the Foundation’s broader mandate to promote inclusive growth, skills development, and financial well-being. By encouraging collaboration between the public and private sectors, the event aims to contribute to solutions that place young people at the centre of Namibia’s economic development efforts.
