Windhoek Mayor’s Trust Donates Jerseys to Local Schools. Windhoek Mayor, Councillor Ndeshihafela Larandja, through the Windhoek Residents Mayoral Trust, has donated jerseys to Baumgartsbrunn Primary School, situated about 35 km outside Windhoek, and A I Steenkamp Primary School. These two schools are part of the 24 beneficiaries supported by the Mayoral Trust.
While Mayor Larandja had initially planned to personally hand over the jerseys and visit the schools, urgent official meetings prevented her from attending. Instead, officials from her office conducted the deliveries on her behalf.
The donation was met with enthusiasm and gratitude from both learners and school staff. Zerilda Garises, Principal of Baumgartsbrunn Primary School, highlighted the impact of the support, noting that some learners come from vulnerable homes and greatly benefit from such contributions.
Rudolfine Kamahene, Principal of A I Steenkamp Primary School, echoed similar sentiments, expressing that while the donation warms the children’s hearts, it equally inspires and motivates the school staff to continue supporting learners’ development.
The initiative is part of the Windhoek Residents Mayoral Trust’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational support and provide resources that improve the overall learning experience. The Trust has consistently focused on giving back to the community, particularly in areas where learners face economic or social challenges.
Through gestures like these, the Mayoral Trust continues to foster community engagement, demonstrating the role of local leadership in supporting education and encouraging the welfare of young learners in Windhoek and surrounding areas.
