City of Windhoek Strengthens Municipal Ties with N$12,000 Pledge at Nkurenkuru Expo Fundraiser. The City of Windhoek has reaffirmed its commitment to inter-municipal collaboration by participating in the Nkurenkuru Town Council’s Fundraising Gala Dinner in support of its upcoming 6th Expo, scheduled for 27 June to 6 July 2025.
Representing Windhoek at the event were Councillors Bernadus Araeb, Magdalena Lombardt, and Ivan Skrywer. The gala dinner served as a key platform to raise resources and awareness for the Expo, held under the theme “Accelerating Trade and Innovation in a Sustainable Manner Through Stakeholder Collaboration and Engagement.”
During the evening, the City of Windhoek pledged N$12,000 towards the Expo, reinforcing its support for initiatives that foster trade, innovation, and sustainable development at the local level.
This contribution is part of a broader cooperation agreement between the two councils, which was renewed in September 2023. The City of Windhoek has consistently demonstrated its support for sister local authorities through participation in trade fairs, cultural events, and fundraising initiatives.
The partnership between Windhoek and Nkurenkuru is one of several efforts by the City to promote inclusive growth and cross-cultural engagement through local authority cooperation.
As Nkurenkuru prepares to host its 6th Expo, the City of Windhoek’s involvement highlights the importance of shared responsibility in advancing national development goals at the grassroots level.
