Schuster Street to Close Temporarily for Water Pipeline Construction in Windhoek

Schuster Street to Close Temporarily for Water Pipeline Construction in Windhoek. The City of Windhoek has announced the temporary closure of Schuster Street at the intersection with Simon Shukwaenleif Street due to essential infrastructure upgrades. The closure, set to begin on April 4, 2025, will facilitate the construction of a new sewer pipeline along the sidewalk of 11 Schuster Street.

The sidewalk and both lanes at the affected intersection will be closed to ensure a safe working environment for the contractors. As a result, traffic will be redirected, and alternative routes will be provided for residents and motorists in the area.

Construction work is scheduled to commence on April 2, 2025, and is expected to be completed by April 26, 2025. During this period, road users and pedestrians are urged to follow traffic signage and respect access restrictions within the construction zone to ensure smooth operations and public safety.

The City of Windhoek has acknowledged the inconvenience this project may cause and has assured residents that the upgrades will contribute to improved sewer infrastructure in the area.
