Capricorn Eagles Embark on Uganda Tour for Quadrangular T20I Series. Namibia’s national women’s cricket team, the Capricorn Eagles, departed on March 5, 2025, for Uganda to participate in the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) Women’s Day Cup. The T20 International (T20I) quadrangular tournament, running from March 8 to 16, features Namibia competing against hosts Uganda, Hong Kong, and Nepal.

The Capricorn Eagles aim to build upon their impressive performances from late 2024. They secured a 3-0 series victory over Malaysia and reached the final in a competitive tournament in Hong Kong. Currently ranked 17th globally in women’s T20 cricket, Namibia is determined to improve its standings further.

At a send-off event in Windhoek, Deputy Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, Hon. Dr. Emma Kantema-Gaomas, commended the team’s dedication and highlighted the government’s commitment to cricket development. She noted that N$2.5 million had been invested in the National Cricket Sports Grounds, with an additional N$3.1 million allocated to Cricket Namibia for the 2024/2025 financial year. ​NBC News+4
