Namibia Launches Arts, Culture, and Heritage Policy to Drive National Development. The Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture has officially launched the Namibia Arts, Culture, and Heritage Policy (NACHP) 2025/26 – 2029/30, marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s creative and cultural industries. The policy aims to preserve national identity, promote sustainable development, and enhance the commercialization of arts and heritage.
The NACHP is designed to nurture, develop, and celebrate Namibia’s diverse cultures and artistic expressions while improving infrastructure development and capacity building in the sector. By doing so, the policy seeks to create economic opportunities within arts and heritage while ensuring the protection and promotion of Namibia’s cultural assets.
During the launch event on March 17, 2025, Hon. Ester Anna Nghipondoka, Minister of Education, Arts, and Culture, emphasized the importance of integrating arts, culture, and heritage into the national education system. She highlighted how the policy will support research, preservation, and innovation in the sector for the benefit of future generations.
