Bank of Namibia Issues N$60 Commemorative Banknote Honouring Dr. Hage G. Geingob. The Bank of Namibia has announced the official launch of a N$60 commemorative banknote in honour of Dr. Hage G. Geingob. The special edition banknote was unveiled earlier today as a tribute to Dr. Geingob’s role in Namibia’s history.

According to the Bank of Namibia, the commemorative banknote recognises Dr. Geingob’s contributions to the country. The design of the N$60 note incorporates both artistic and technical features aimed at preserving its significance.

The banknote is printed on polymer and includes a portrait of Dr. Geingob positioned within a transparent window. The design also features security elements such as coloured intaglio print, Argentum silver ink, and gold accents that appear when the note is tilted. In addition, the Independence Memorial Museum is displayed in a secondary transparent window on the note.

The Bank of Namibia stated that these design elements aim to combine durability, security, and historical recognition in the production of the commemorative note. Details regarding the distribution, circulation, and usage of the N$60 banknote were not provided at the time of the announcement. The Bank indicated that further information will be shared through official communications.

The release of the N$60 commemorative banknote marks a formal acknowledgment by the Bank of Namibia, with the note serving as a recognition of Dr. Geingob as part of the country’s history.
